Cuisine Idéale™ (“Cuisine Idéale”, “we”, “our”) takes the protection of your personal information seriously and is committed to acting in a transparent and responsible manner.

This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain and protect your personal information when you interact with us, including when you:

1. Legal framework and definitions

As a Québec-based private-sector company, Cuisine Idéale handles personal information in compliance with:

  • the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Québec), as modernized by Law 25 (Act to modernize legislative provisions as regards the protection of personal information), (Légis Québec)

  • and, where relevant, the GDPR principles for individuals located in the European Union or European Economic Area.

“Personal information” means any information about an identifiable individual, either alone or combined with other information (e.g. name, contact details, project details, IP address).


2. Privacy Officer

In accordance with Law 25, Cuisine Idéale designates a Privacy Officer responsible for compliance with this Policy and applicable laws, as well as for responding to questions, access requests or complaints relating to personal information. (Légis Québec)

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect the following categories of personal information.

3.1 Identification and contact details

  • Postal address (home or project address)

When you request a quote or start a project (kitchen, bathroom, living space, multi-residential units, etc.), we may collect:

  • Type of project (renovation, new construction, multi-residential, etc.)

  • Property type (house, condo, building, etc.)

  • City, region, postal code

  • Estimated budget and desired timeline

  • Functional and aesthetic preferences (style, materials, constraints)

  • Preferred showroom / boutique (e.g. Mirabel, Brossard, Pointe-Claire, etc.)

  • Photos, plans, sketches or documents you choose to upload

3.3 Client relationship information

  • History of communications with our team (emails, calls, messages, appointments)

  • Quotes, orders, contracts, invoices, delivery and installation details

  • Notes about your project, design choices and service follow-up

  • Satisfaction surveys and feedback

3.4 Marketing and preference data

  • Newsletter subscription status

  • Participation in contests, events or promotions

  • Interests (e.g. kitchen, bathroom, closets / storage solutions, multi-residential projects)

  • union membership,

  • health, biometric or genetic data,

If such information is exceptionally communicated to us, we will only use it if strictly necessary and, where required, with your explicit consent and appropriate safeguards.

7.1 Types of cookies we use

    • Analytics tools (e.g. GA4) and A/B testing tools

    • IT, security and cloud service providers

9. Transfers outside Québec or Canada

Some of our service providers (hosting, analytics, advertising, CRM, etc.) may be located outside Québec and/or Canada, including in the United States or the European Union.

In those cases:

  • Your personal information may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions (e.g. possible access by foreign authorities).

10. How long we keep your personal information

We keep your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, and to comply with our legal, accounting and tax obligations.

As a guideline:

  • Prospects (no ongoing project): we generally keep your information up to 36 months after the last significant interaction, unless you have consented to longer marketing communications.

  • Clients (active or completed projects): we may keep your information for the duration of the contractual relationship, then for an additional period required by law (e.g. warranties, limitation periods).

  • Analytics / cookies: we typically configure GA4 to retain event data for up to 14 months or less, depending on our operational needs and legal obligations. (Google Help)

Once the retention period has expired, personal information is securely deleted, anonymized or irreversibly de-identified.


11. Security measures

We implement reasonable physical, technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against loss, theft, unauthorized access, disclosure or misuse, such as:

  • Physical: controlled access to our premises and secure storage of paper files.

  • Technical: firewalls, access controls, password management, encryption where appropriate, and the use of secure protocols (HTTPS) on the Site.

  • Organizational: internal policies, confidentiality obligations for employees and service providers, and access limited on a “need-to-know” basis.

No system is absolutely secure, but we are committed to acting diligently in the event of an incident.


12. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the following rights with respect to your personal information:

  • Right of access: to know whether we hold personal information about you and to obtain a copy.

  • Right to rectification: to correct incomplete, inaccurate or ambiguous information.

  • Right to withdraw consent: to withdraw your consent at any time where processing is based on consent (e.g. newsletters, certain cookies).

  • Right to restrict or object: in certain cases, to request that we limit the processing of your information or object to certain uses (e.g. direct marketing).

  • Right to data portability (as implemented and when required by law): to obtain the personal information you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used format, so that it can be transferred to another organization.

13. Individuals in the European Union / EEA

If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, the processing of your personal information may also be subject to the GDPR. In addition to the rights described above, you may have additional rights (such as the right to erasure, extended portability and restriction) depending on the circumstances.

Cuisine Idéale does not specifically target its services to the EU market, but our Site may be accessible from those territories. We aim to apply GDPR principles where applicable and reasonable.


14. Children and minors

Our services and content are aimed primarily at adults (homeowners, developers, professionals). We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from individuals under 18 years of age without the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

If we learn that a minor has provided us with personal information without parental consent where required, we will take reasonable steps to delete such information from our systems.


15. Automated decision-making and profiling

Cuisine Idéale does not use fully automated decision-making systems that produce legal effects for you or significantly affect you, within the meaning of privacy laws (for example, automated credit decisions without human review).

We may, however, use certain tools to segment our audiences for marketing purposes (e.g. “people who visited the kitchen projects page”), but these tools are used to improve the relevance of our communications and do not make binding decisions about you without human involvement. (Légis Québec)

16. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect:

  • changes in legislation or regulations,

  • adjustments to our internal practices,
